In the mood for love (and shopping)
A few weeks ago I found a great vintage store
that had some really rockin dresses. Needless to say I nearly
emptied my entire savings after spending 2 hours in there. The
owners, Morgan and Karen were super sweet hearts. As I try on
different dresses, they would try to style it with belts and shoes that
of course I can’t refuse. The best part was, they also had a
tailor to custom fit the clothing.
This weekend, I went back to pick up a dress I left for alteration (and
to pick up a few new ones!). Morgan and I started talking about
love and relationships. I mentioned I used to design nerve personals
and her eyes grew really wide. “I met my boyfriend on nerve!” she
said. It turned out he was a designer living in London at the
time. He found her on nerve and they traded emails for
month. Finally she flew to London to meet him and they have been
dating ever since. He just moved here a few weeks ago to be with
her. Their story was so sweet and I can see little sparks going off in her eyes. Hearing it really made my day.
I have heard similar stories like that in the past. It’s the best
when I meet married couples who met their sweet heart on a site that I
shed some fair amount of sweat and tears to create. It gives me
the fuzzies knowing that my work has helped someone lower the number of
frogs they had to kiss in order to get to the true love they deserve.great, isn’t it? okay.. now it’s my turn!

Seems you felt just pampered in that vintage store. The sales reps. were hospitable, too. It’s so hard to find good service these days. I used to be a customer and sales rep. at Macy*s, so I know what it’s like for each role. Let’s just say the experience was horrible. I like the service at Nordstroms, though. So, I guess we aren’t represented as humans anymore. It seems we are either termed frogs or fish within the context of relationship hunting nowadays.
